Community Wind: Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation
Located in northern central Indiana, Tippecanoe Valley Schools and Kosciusko County boast natural wind resources. The school corporation has the distinction of installing the largest "behind the meter" renewable project in Indiana to directly power the high school and middle school campus and offset approximately 70 percent of electrical utility costs.
Dedicated at a groundbreaking event on May 31, 2011, the project includes one 321-foot high, three-blade turbine and was operational November 2011.
