A District Focused on Safer, More Welcoming Entrances
At Sardis Elementary School, Blakeney Elementary School, and Waynesboro Primary School, district leaders recognized an important need: improve safety at school entry points while maintaining a welcoming, positive environment for students, staff, and families.
With vestibule areas lacking modern security features, the district took action—leveraging available state funding to make targeted, high-impact improvements that prioritize safety without sacrificing functionality or aesthetics.
Fast, Flexible Approach to Immediate Needs
To bring this vision to life, the district partnered with Performance Services to deliver a $479,000 project focused on safety, efficiency, and thoughtful design. With completion targeted for Fall 2026, the team is implementing solutions that can be delivered quickly while aligning with future renovation plans.
The goal was clear: Create secure, functional entry points that support daily operations and provide peace of mind for the entire school community.
Smart Upgrades That Make a Difference
The project focuses on targeted improvements that deliver immediate safety benefits while enhancing the overall experience of each space.
Key improvements include:
- Enhanced security glazing and reinforced casework between common areas and administrative offices
- Secure transaction trays to control access and improve safety
- Safety film applied to all vestibule glass
- Reconfigured counters and door layouts to improve traffic flow and functionality
- Aesthetic enhancements that create a more welcoming and professional environment
Each upgrade is carefully designed to balance security, usability, and visual appeal, ensuring spaces feel both safe and inviting.
