Project Description

Arkansas Tech University wanted to reduce rising utility costs and create a more energy-conscious campus without disrupting the student experience. Through the Arkansas Energy Performance Contracting (AEPC) Program, Performance Services helped the university implement a campus-wide energy-savings initiative to make a lasting impact.

The project included LED lighting retrofits and upgrades to building automation systems across campus, giving the university greater control over energy use while improving the learning environment for students and staff.

But the transformation went beyond infrastructure. Through the Energy Leadership program, Arkansas Tech empowered students and staff to become active participants in reducing energy consumption. An on-site energy manager leads the behavior-based awareness program, supported by a web-based dashboard that provides real-time energy data to help the campus monitor usage and make informed decisions.

Together, these improvements are expected to reduce annual utility costs by 13.8%—helping Arkansas Tech University create a more efficient, sustainable future for its campus community.
