Lombard, IL. Performance Services is pleased to announce the addition of Alex Lopez, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, as the new Illinois/Wisconsin Principal Architect – Project Development Leader. Alex will develop new construction and renovation projects for Illinois and Wisconsin K-12 school districts. Before joining Performance Services, Lopez served as Vice President and Director of K12 Education at Cordogan, Clark & Associates.

Alex is a talented, award-winning designer, recognized by his peers at the AIA for outstanding work. Some of his designs include Elgin Community College Multi-Purpose Classroom Building, Elgin, IL; Lincoln-Way North High School, Frankfort, IL; Clinton Elementary School, Clinton, IL; Silas Willard Elementary School, Galesburg, IL; Hinsdale Middle School, Hinsdale, IL, and most recently served as the Lead Design Architect for the 5th Ward K-8 school construction project underway in Evanston, Illinois.

“On January 1, 2024, a new Illinois law will allow Illinois schools to use design-build procurement. This delivery method is proven for education facilities nationwide, including Wisconsin. I have worked in traditional architecture over the past 24 years of my design career. Although we’ve had successful projects, I have always believed in the master builder approach to planning, design and construction. It’s exciting to join a design-build company that provides a proven value proposition under one contract and one united team,” said Lopez.

“We are very pleased to add an individual with the passion, expertise, and experience needed to successfully serve school districts and meet our growth and customer satisfaction goals. We fully expect Alex will be an asset in the years to come to create and deliver high-performing learning environments that meet our education customers’ current and future needs,” said Terry Brown, Director of Design-Build for Performance Services.

Alex is an associate member of the Illinois Association of School Board Officials, where he has been present at their annual conference for the last 19 years. Alex has interviewed countless school superintendents, officials, and board of education members at National School Board Association conferences from San Diego to Miami on the Issues in Education.
