Luis joined the Performance Services team in 2026. He brings more than ten years of diverse experience across automotive and engineering research environments, with a strong focus on mechanical and electronic systems. Most recently, he worked at ZF in Vernon Hills, Illinois, specializing in the assembly, testing, and diagnostics of passenger vehicle transmissions and electronic control modules. In this role, Luis interpreted technical schematics, performed system validation, and ensured product quality through rigorous testing and inspection processes. His hands-on experience with advanced diagnostic tools and precision equipment has strengthened his ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges efficiently.
Earlier in his career, Luis served as a Project Engineer at the Instituto Mexicano del Transporte in Querétaro, México. There, he led and supported a range of research initiatives focused on vehicle dynamics, emissions, safety, and overall system performance. His work involved extensive use of sensors, data acquisition systems, and real-time analysis to evaluate and improve mechanical and electrical systems. Luis also contributed to the development of technical reports and helped ensure compliance with regulatory standards, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Luis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling him to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and technical environments.
Outside of work, Luis is a dedicated family man. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar and basketball, camping, spending time outdoors, hosting family barbecues, and cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago Bears.
