Ben joined the Performance Services team in 2022. From an early age, Ben was taking things apart and figuring out ways to reassemble them better. This continued throughout his four-year career with the United States Marine Corps as an Electrical Equipment Repair Specialist, where he set up and maintained power distribution systems and electrical devices, including generators, distribution panels and mobile and temporary lighting. For his service, Ben received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Following an honorable discharge from the military in 2007, he attended IUPUI and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

Ben launched his AEC career with Mussett Nicholas + Associates in 2011 as an Electrical Engineer and developed construction documents for various industrial projects, including the Westfield High School building and football stadium renovation and Irwin Office Building for Cummins, Inc.. Ben was an Electrical Engineer with Specialized Engineering Solutions and Schmidt Associates, where he was responsible for the design of lighting, power systems, back-up emergency generators, communications, fire alarms, and Arc Flash studies for healthcare, education, government, and community projects. Ben takes pride and satisfaction in solving complex problems knowing what he is doing is worthwhile and useful to others.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys woodworking and is currently constructing a cupula for the top of his home workshop. He also owns several lawn tractors that he is rebuilding. When Ben isn’t working in his shop, he can be found volunteering at Servant’s Heart of Indy with his church small group.
