Project Description

In 2015, Shelby Eastern Schools partnered with Performance Services to implement a guaranteed energy savings contract focused on reducing energy costs and updating the learning environment for students throughout the district. The first phase of the project completed in 2016 and focused on improving lighting and temperature comfort in classrooms with new LED lighting and digital controls systems.

Performance Services was then selected in 2019 to implement a second phase project to continue reducing energy costs by and improve school security by installing secure entryways at all four school buildings. This phase of the project is anticipated to be completed in Summer 2020.

Phase I Project Highlights

  • Installed variable speed drives on air handlers
  • Upgraded gymnasium air conditioning at the high school
  • Installed CO2 sensors to monitor indoor air quality
  • Door replacement and repair at elementary schools and high school
  • Gym LED lighting upgrades
  • Exterior LED lighting upgrades
  • Retro-commissioned the digital controls systems
  • Modernized the building automation software

Phase II Project Highlights

  • Replaced classroom HVAC units at Waldron Jr/Sr High and Morristown Jr/Sr High
  • Roof replacement
  • Secure entryways at Morristown Elementary, Morristown Jr/Sr High, Waldron Elementary, and Waldron Jr/Sr High
  • New high-efficiency chiller at Waldron Jr/Sr High
  • Replaced hot water heater at Waldron Jr/Sr High
