Project Description
Located in the Village of Northfield, IL, District 29 includes the new Sunset Ridge School, serving students in 4th through 8th grade. Opening in September 2017, the school has embraced and expanded the concepts of an active and collaborative learning environment with the "whole child" at its core. The District utilized a guaranteed energy savings contract and selected Performance Services to design and implement a rooftop solar array with the goal of enabling students and their 8th grade Energy Activists to actively monitor and study energy production and consumption. Working with the District and CommEd's Distributed Generation Rebate Program, Sunset Ridge was presented with a utility rebate check of $108,625 in May 2019.
