Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Centralized Reality Capture Operations- Deliver reality capture services as a shared corporate resource supporting multiple projects and business units.
- Execute drone and LiDAR data collection in compliance with FAA Part 107, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain consistency in field workflows, accuracy standards, and deliverable quality across all projects.
- Perform drone missions for photogrammetry and thermal imagery.
- Conduct terrestrial LiDAR scanning for existing conditions, progress tracking, and as-built documentation.
- Establish and follow standardized procedures for control, registration, and repeatable capture.
- Coordinate site access and safety planning with project teams.
- Process raw imagery and LiDAR data into validated point clouds, orthomosaics, meshes, and surfaces.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, alignment, and completeness.
- Prepare standardized deliverables suitable for BIM, VDC, and design workflows.
- Manage large datasets, file structures, metadata, and long-term storage in accordance with corporate standards.
- Integrate reality capture outputs into BIM platforms including Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Recap, Revizto, ACC, HxDR, and DroneDeploy, etc.
- Support design validation, coordination, clash detection, and progress verification.
- Collaborate with VDC leaders to align capture outputs with modeling, coordination, and digital twin initiatives.
- Support development, documentation, and enforcement of companywide reality capture standards.
- Maintain, calibrate, and manage centralized drone and LiDAR equipment inventory.
- Evaluate emerging reality capture technologies, sensors, and software platforms.
- Assist in training project teams and VDC staff on reality capture capabilities, limitations, and best practices.

Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in reality capture, including drone operations and LiDAR scanning, in the AEC industry.
- Experience working in a centralized VDC, BIM, or technology services team strongly preferred.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification required.
- OSHA 10 or higher preferred.
- Additional certifications related to LiDAR, surveying, or reality capture are a plus.
- Hands-on experience with UAS platforms and terrestrial LiDAR scanners.
- Proficiency with reality capture processing software (RealityCapture, Leica Cyclone, Faro Scene, or similar).
- Working knowledge of BIM and VDC tools (Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Recap).
- Understanding of coordinate systems, georeferencing, and basic survey control principles.
- Strong data organization, documentation, and version control skills.
