Project Description

Central Bowie WSC partnered with Performance Services to implement an energy savings contract to modernize their water infrastructure and implement technology to help manage their water distribution. The project includes the replacement of all 3,000 existing water meters with new “smart” water meters that are connected to a secure Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Network. The AMI network will give Central Bowie County WSC the ability to proactively manage its system through actionable data. This 21st Century technology provides more visibility into water usage and allows the city and residents to remotely monitor water usage in real time. The city will also be implementing distribution side leak detection and pressure monitoring that enables the city to quickly detect and eliminate leaks, which will improve its performance and service.

Project Highlights

  • Installation of advanced metering infrastructure (3,000 meters)
  • Online portal for customers to view and track water consumption data
  • Distribution side leak detection and pressure monitoring
