Project Description

In late 2021, Dallas College engaged Performance Services to improve the electric power throughout the District’s seven campuses by improving power conditioning. The project includes installing clean power and capacity systems on select meters. In addition to improving power factor and reducing harmonics, which will lower energy costs, the project provides enhanced protection and longevity for the facility’s electric equipment. This project was developed and installed in a few short months and comes with a written guarantee that the power factor will be improved above the 95% minimum required by Oncor. The project was completed in 2022 with a local women-owned electrical firm for the subcontracted installation of the work.
