A Unified and Efficient Court System

The Elkhart County Consolidated Courts project has served to unify and modernize the county’s judicial system with a new courthouse in Goshen, Indiana, featuring current technology and accessibility for all citizens. This new facility incorporates trauma-informed design—prioritizing physical safety, emotional well-being, and respectful spaces for everyone.

The new campus replaces two outdated facilities to streamline operations and improve public access to justice, reflecting the county’s commitment to better service delivery. The new courthouse has reduced redundancies and improved efficiency. The centralized location makes it easier for residents to attend court proceedings, and the modern facilities will support the implementation of specialized courts, such as drug and family courts, tailored to community needs.

A Model for Justice Delivery

This project represents a transformative step for Elkhart County. By consolidating court services into a single, state-of-the-art facility, the county sets a precedent for how thoughtful design and strategic planning can enhance public services and community well-being.

  • A new single, modern campus
  • 14 courtrooms and hearing rooms – civil, criminal and family-specific courts to enhance operational efficiency
  • Use of natural daylighting
  • Designed with future expansion in mind. The site is master planned to accommodate additional development, ensuring the facility meets the county’s needs for the next century
