Project Description
In 2016 the School Town of Munster identified a need for energy renovations at several of its school buildings. The District partnered with Performance Services to implement a guaranteed energy savings project. It included a renovation of the Energy Center that serves Munster High School and Wilbur Wright Middle School. After successfully completing this first project, the District recognized it had more work to be done to make their buildings more energy efficient.
The District successfully passed a referendum to fund the additional renovations and implemented a second, multi-phase guaranteed energy savings project. Improvements include replacing the High School fieldhouse roof, installing new air conditioning, and renovations on the varsity locker rooms. This phase also included HVAC renovations and a new secure entry at Frank H. Hammond Elementary School.
