Avon, IN. When Avon Community School Corporation opens its doors for the 2025-26 school year, students and staff will return to a transformed learning environment. All major renovation and construction projects across the district—part of Avon’s strategic expansion plan—are now complete, delivering on the promise to accommodate growing enrollment while ensuring the district remains true to its mission that ALL belong, learn, and grow.

These projects were made possible through a collaborative partnership with Performance Services, serving as the district’s trusted design-build partner for the entire scope of work.

Meeting Growth with Vision

In response to rapid growth—Avon was Indiana’s third-fastest-growing school district during 2019–2021—the district has undertaken comprehensive facility improvements to support the transition to a K–5 and 6–8 grade configuration. Enrollment has increased by more than 2,200 students since 2010 and is projected to grow by an additional 500 in the next decade.

These newly completed projects will provide flexible, future-ready learning spaces for years to come:

  • Cedar, Maple, and River Birch Elementary Schools: New classroom additions to support full K–5 transitions.
  • Hickory, Pine Tree, and Sycamore Elementary Schools: Interior renovations to align with K–5 programming.
  • Evergreen Elementary (AIS East): A new kindergarten wing to support the updated grade structure.
  • Willow Elementary (AIS West): Renovations tailored to K–5 transition needs.
  • Avon Middle School North and South: Expanded and renovated facilities are now ready for grades 6–8.
  • Avon Middle School West: A newly constructed school opening its doors for the first time.
  • Avon High School (AHS): Renovated and expanded to accommodate over 4,000 students.

Financial Stewardship at the Forefront

In an era where school funding often hinges on community referendums, Avon has completed this extensive work without increasing taxes or using referendum dollars. Thanks to prudent financial planning and the retirement of previous debts, the district has financed this expansion at no additional cost to taxpayers. In fact, Avon has reduced its debt service tax rate by 21.3% since 2017.

“We are proud to deliver these much-needed improvements without asking more from our taxpayers,” said Avon Schools Superintendent, Dr. Scott Wyndham. “This is a testament to our long-term financial strategy and commitment to responsible stewardship.”

A Strong Future Starts Here

With these facility upgrades complete, Avon is well-positioned to deliver high-quality education in a safe, modern, and spacious environment. The district remains committed to planning for future growth while supporting academic excellence and community engagement.
