Meeting a Growing Need
In Tattnall County, agricultural education isn’t just a class—it’s a way of life. As student participation in FFA, Young Farmers, and ag programs continued to grow, the district quickly outgrew its existing agriculture facility. Limited space and a lack of flexibility made it difficult to host shows, meetings, and training for students and educators alike.
District leaders saw the need—and the opportunity—to invest in a facility that reflected their value for agricultural education and community involvement. They turned to a trusted planning partner to make that vision a reality.
Purpose-Built Ag Facility: Designed for Growth and Community
The new agricultural facility at Tattnall County Schools is being built to meet the evolving needs of students, educators, and the broader ag community. The new space will provide a much-needed upgrade, featuring a small animal show ring with bleachers to better welcome guests during exhibitions. A convenient kitchenette and concession stand will support events and gatherings, while dedicated restrooms and ample storage will ensure the space functions smoothly for both daily instruction and special occasions. Designed to serve multiple purposes, the facility will also host meetings for groups like Young Farmers and FFA chapters, reinforcing its role as a hub for agricultural education and community involvement.
To maintain continuity and maximize existing resources, the new building will connect to the current ag facility via an interior corridor. This thoughtful connection allows the original space to be repurposed for staging, additional pens, or other supportive uses, ensuring the entire complex works together as one cohesive and flexible environment.
New Agricultural Facility Features
- A kitchenette/concession stand, restrooms, and dedicated storage
- A small animal show ring with bleacher seating for guests
- Space for Young Farmers and FFA meetings and other ag-related events
- A connecting corridor to the existing facility, allowing that space to be repurposed for staging or additional pens
Rethinking the Board Office: More Welcoming and Functional
In addition to the ag facility expansion, Tattnall County Schools prioritized long-needed updates to the district’s central board offices, specifically the restrooms that serve staff, educators, and visitors during meetings and professional development sessions.
The existing facilities were outdated and undersized, especially the women’s restroom, which could not adequately support the number of guests regularly attending events. With the board office serving as a hub for educator training and districtwide gatherings, these limitations were increasingly disruptive.
The renovation will expand and modernize the restrooms, creating a more comfortable and accessible experience for everyone who visits the building. These improvements reflect the district’s commitment not only to its students but also to the educators and leaders who support them.
Built on Trust and Collaboration
This project is the result of thoughtful planning and partnership. With guidance from Performance Services’ educational consultants and in-house architects and engineers, Tattnall County Schools prioritized what mattered most: supporting students, educators, and the local ag community with welcoming, functional, and future-ready spaces.
