Glasgow, Missouri — A recent energy efficiency project at Glasgow School District has delivered exceptional results, generating $11,279 in first-year energy savings—27% above the projected amount of $8,879 annually. The initiative, completed in 2024 by Performance Services, marks a major step forward in the district’s commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.
Energy upgrades across the district included installing LED lighting both inside and outside the Middle/High School, Agriculture Building, and Glasgow Elementary School; adding a high-efficiency chiller; and implementing targeted ventilation improvements to enhance comfort and indoor air quality.
In total, the three upgraded buildings achieved a 31% reduction in overall energy intensity, thanks to a combination of advanced equipment and optimized scheduling strategies. These improvements have created a more efficient, comfortable, and cost-effective learning environment for students and staff.
“The Board of Education serves as a watchful agent of taxpayer money,’’ said Superintendent Stacey Kottman. “This project continues to provide significant financial benefits and shows the board’s willingness to implement cost-saving projects to ensure that more resources reach the classrooms to meet our student needs.’’
