A Growing District with Big Infrastructure Needs
Serving a large and diverse student population in the western suburbs of Chicago, Indian Prairie School District 204 spans multiple campuses and facilities. With aging building systems and rising maintenance costs, district leaders knew they needed a thoughtful, long-term strategy to modernize key infrastructure while maintaining daily operations.
To accomplish this, the district partnered with Performance Services on a series of projects designed to improve reliability, reduce energy and maintenance costs, and enhance comfort for students and staff.
A Phased Plan with Lasting Impact
Through five strategically phased projects, the District has addressed critical systems across multiple facilities. Each phase was developed collaboratively with district stakeholders to align with available budgets, minimize disruption, and deliver long-term value.
Key upgrades have included:
-
Boiler plant modernizations at Longwood, Watts, Clow, and Spring Brook Elementary Schools
- Gym exhaust upgrades at Waubonsie Valley, Metea Valley, and Neuqua Valley High Schools
-
Chiller plant upgrade at Neuqua Valley High School
-
Domestic hot water heater replacement and pool water heater upgrade at Waubonsie Valley High School
-
District-wide building automation controls upgrades to improve system performance and comfort control
-
LED lighting retrofits at Still, Granger, Crone, Scullen, Fischer Middle Schools, and Metea Valley High School
-

Each improvement supports the district’s long-term mission: creating safe, efficient, and student-focused schools that remain functional and welcoming for years to come.
