Comprehensive, Long-Term Roofing Upgrades
In 2024, McFarland School District took proactive steps to address the aging infrastructure at McFarland High School. The high school’s roofing systems had reached the end of their useful life, presenting both performance concerns and maintenance challenges. Rather than wait for failure or rely on temporary fixes, the district chose to pursue a comprehensive, phased roofing replacement plan designed to extend the building’s longevity and improve overall performance.
The multi-phase roofing project at McFarland High School includes:
- Removal of Existing PVC Roofing System
- Removal of Existing Built-Up Roofing (BUR) System
- Installation of EDPM Fully Adhered Roofing System
- Correction of Roof Drainage Issues with New Gutters and Downspouts
- Repair of EDPM Deficiencies
Looking Ahead: A Phased Approach for Maximum Impact
The district’s strategic, phased implementation allows for careful budgeting and project timing while minimizing disruption to school operations. The estimated total investment is $6.2 million, with project completion targeted for August 2027.
