Jim Holton recently retired from the Glascock County School System in Gibson, GA, after serving 33 years in public education.  He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Georgia and began his career as an Agriculture Teacher in 1991. Jim was promoted to Assistant Superintendent in 2000, assuming facilities and operations duties and supervising building projects for the district. Jim earned advanced degrees in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. He became the District Superintendent in 2003, serving the next 21 years, retiring in June of 2024 as the longest tenured school Superintendent currently serving in the state. Jim has always been genuinely interested in the facilities side of K-12 education. Through the years, he developed and managed numerous building projects with the school system, made many lifelong friends, and created a substantial network in Georgia’s public education realm.

Jim’s experience in the education world and construction environment gives him a unique perspective on each project, and he enjoys working to bridge the needs of the education world with the parameters of the construction process.

Jim is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time in many outdoor pursuits. He also enjoys rooting for his alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
