James joined the Performance Services team in 2019. For the past 24 years James has worked in the government arena for both private and public entities. For the last six years, he served as the Director of Government Affairs for the Illinois Café & Service Company, a start-up in the restaurant/video wagering industry. During his tenure he helped the company grow from zero stores in 2013 to more than 45 prior to his recent transition to Performance Services, Inc. During his tenure James dealt directly with the government entities on all aspects of approvals, licensing and permitting. Prior to his years with ICSC, James was a village administrator, economic development director and public relations/affairs director, working directly for Illinois park districts and municipalities. James is also a proud veteran, having served in the United State Air Force.
He and his wife of 19 years, Jen, have two children, and have lived in Palatine, IL for the last 15 years. Their sons, Connor and Quinn, will be a junior and freshman at Palatine High School, where Connor plays football and lacrosse and Quinn will be playing basketball and lacrosse. Outside of work, he serves as a volunteer football and lacrosse coach.
